Created in 1920, this long term vintage perfume from Yardley has had a new update and is now a contemporary classic alongside April Violets.

The packaging has also been updated and it now bears artwork of lily of the valley flowers and leaves. The bottle is a sleek and simple rectangular affair.

LILY OF THE VALLEY BY YARDLEY PERFUME REVIEWOpening note: Pear.

Middle notes: Lily of the valley and freesia.

Base note: Musk.

The sweetness of the pear overrides the classic beauty of the lily of the valley at first, but given a little time the florals come and a pleasant perfume arrives, with a powdery-soapy side. It is nice for the price, nothing amazing, and longevity is poor.

Occasions: Casual daywear.

Seasons: Summer.

Rating: Bronze medal.

Price: Inexpensive.
